Hot weather advice

The UK Health Security Agency and the Met Office have issued a amber heat health alert across the East of England from 10am on Monday 30 June until 9am on Wednesday 2 July 2025.

We know many people enjoy getting out and about in the sunshine – especially here in beautiful Essex. But when the temperatures rise for several days in a row, it’s important to take simple steps to keep yourself and others well.

Some people – like older adults, young children, and those with long-term health conditions – can be more affected by heat. That’s why it’s a good time to check in with friends, neighbours, and family, and make sure everyone stays safe and comfortable.
