NHS Mid and South Essex’s board meeting on Thursday 17 July

NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board will hold its next board meeting on Thursday 17 July 2025.

At this meeting, NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) will formally decide on recommendations, as part of a Decision-Making Business Case (DMBC), that sets out the future commissioning of:

• Community outpatient services at St Peter’s Hospital, Maldon
• The location of inpatient rehabilitation care across mid and south Essex
• The location of standalone midwife-led birthing unit

Recommendations have been developed following a detailed review of various options that were based on:

• The original pre-consultation business case
• Public and stakeholder feedback from a formal public consultation
• Recommendations from medical experts
• Financial impact assessments
• Quality and equality impact assessments
• Community working group input and recommendations

Further information about the proposal, public consultation and the recommendations of a Consultation Working Group are available on the Virtual Views engagement platform. The decision-making business case will be available to download from the NHS Mid and South Essex website on 17 July.

NHS Mid and South Essex’s board meeting is held as a meeting in public, and members of the public are welcome to attend and listen. The meeting will take place from 1pm to 3.30pm in the Council Chamber, Chelmsford Civic Centre, Duke Street, Chelmsford, CM1 1JE. The meeting will be live streamed and can be watched via YouTube:

While there isn’t an opportunity to comment or ask questions during the meeting, the public can submit questions in advance, which the board will endeavour to answer during the meeting. Where appropriate, any questions not answered will be responded to separately outside of the meeting.
