Our plans to create healthier communities

The commitment to reduce health inequalities is at the core of our Integrated Care System (ICS) structure and ways of working.

Through the anchor programme run by Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, there is a commitment to supporting local people to reach their potential and providing opportunities for this to happen.

There is also a commitment to purchase locally and work with partner organisations to make the best use of local assets, putting the local communities at the heart of all decisions. The inclusion of social value requirements in our purchasing processes is also changing the way services are provided, with local people benefitting from an increased importance on communities.
