
Clinical Care Professional Leadership Mentor for Primary Care
Dr Sarah Crane is an Essex Portfolio GP dedicated to supporting primary care and fostering clinical and care professional leadership. Currently, she serves as the Senior Responsible Officer for the Mid and South Essex Primary Care Training Hub. Dr Crane’s work centres on empowering primary care professionals, aiming to cultivate strong leadership, and driving the recruitment, development, and retention of skilled staff in practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs), and communities across mid and south Essex.
Since early 2019, Dr Crane has held various clinical leadership roles with a focus on workforce development. Having completed her GP training in the Chelmsford VTS, she became a long-term GP partner in Danbury. More recently, she has taken on multiple roles, including GP Retainer in Billericay, senior appraiser, and Associate Medical Director for Development at MSE ICB. Dr Crane also works with WTE East of England as an area training programme director, supporting international medical graduates.
Alongside her professional commitments, Dr Crane is a busy mother to three children, three cats, and Bella, a lively Labrador.
