Provide Community, an employee-owned community interest company, is proud to announce the launch of a new scheme providing free period products across seven of its sexual health clinic locations within Essex Sexual Health Service and Suffolk Sexual Health Service.
This initiative is part of Provide Community’s ongoing commitment to creating social value, tackling period poverty, and supporting the wellbeing of patients, visitors, and colleagues.
Those attending the clinics, will find free period products available in one female and one accessible bathroom at each participating clinic.
The first wave of sites are:
Essex Sexual Health clinics
- Southgate House, Basildon
- Moulsham Lodge, Chelmsford
- Springfield Green, Chelmsford
- Stapleford House, Chelmsford
- The Stow, Harlow
Suffolk Sexual Health clinics
- Abbey View, Bury St Edmunds
- Orwell Clinic, Ipswich
- Regent Road, Lowestoft
By introducing this scheme, Provide Community aims to remove barriers to accessing essential hygiene products, reduce the stigma around periods, and help ensure that no one is left in a difficult situation when visiting our clinics.
As a community interest company, we reinvest back into the communities we serve. Providing free period products is a simple but powerful way to promote dignity, equality, and wellbeing for all.
This is just the first step, we plan to expand this initiative to more sites across the country over the year ahead.
