The consultation
The NHS across mid and south Essex is committed to ensuring that local healthcare services meet the needs of our community now and in the future.
We are holding a public consultation and inviting local people to give their views on potential changes to:
- the locations where we provide some of our inpatient services for community hospital intermediate care and stroke rehabilitation, and freestanding midwife-led birthing services; and
- the possibility of moving all other patient services at St Peter’s Hospital, Maldon to other locations, mostly in and around Maldon.
The proposals have been developed by local clinical leaders and other health experts.
We are asking local people to share their thoughts on these proposals before we decide what to do. We want to hear from as many people as possible and we will consider your responses carefully taking them into account when we’re making decisions about these proposals.
Find out more about the consultation, proposals and how to have your say on the NHS Mid and South Essex Virtual Views website.
The public consultation hearing event will be run by independent communications and involvement experts with a panel of subject experts. The session will be split into subject areas dependant on the people that come forward to present evidence.
Notice of filming
Please be aware that during the public consultation hearing, we will be filming for the purposes of producing a live stream for YouTube. This is so people who cannot attend in person, can still listen and follow along with proceedings.
By registering to attend the hearing in person, you acknowledge that those in attendance may be filmed and grant your consent to being filmed and for the recordings to be used in connection with any promotion of the consultation.
If you do not wish to be filmed please notify the crew or a member of the NHS team. We will make every effort to sit you away from the camera.
