A new NHS vaccination site has opened in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, as part of a nationwide expansion of mpox vaccination services.
The site will offer vaccines to eligible people at increased risk of infection, including men who have sex with men and have multiple partners, participate in group sex, or attend sex-on-premises venues. Staff at these venues may also qualify for vaccination.
While the UK Health Security Agency confirms the overall risk from mpox remains low, this new location will improve access to protection for residents across the East of England.
Steve Russell, NHS National Director for Vaccination and Screening, said: “While the risk to the public remains low, it is important that eligible people across England are able to access mpox vaccines easily, which is why we are now offering the jabs at even more sites across the country.”
Eligible individuals can find appointment availability through the NHS online site finder.
