COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are available at drop-in clinics across mid and south Essex throughout December.
As the festive season approaches and many of us plan to gather with loved ones, eligible members of the public are urged to come forward and have their vaccines to help keep them safe and well this winter.
Those currently eligible include people aged 65 and over, those with certain health conditions or who are pregnant, health and social care workers, carers and close contacts of vulnerable people.
COVID-19 and flu vaccines are available at walk-in clinics at Canvey Island Library, East Tilbury Library, Thurrock Hospital, Southend Civic Centre and the Coach House, Halstead. There is no need to book – just check the dates and times on the EPUT website. COVID-19 vaccinations are also available at The Lodge, Runwell. Please note flu vaccinations are not available here.
The experienced vaccination team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) has delivered more than 1.6 million COVID-19 vaccinations since 2021.
A spokesperson for EPUT’s Vaccination and Immunisation service, said: “The emergence of a new variant earlier this autumn has shown us that COVID-19 is very much still with us. This along with flu, means we could be looking at a difficult winter so I urge you to do all you can to protect yourself and have a safe, healthy Christmas.
“Vaccines are safe and effective, and it only takes a few minutes to drop by and get yours. If you’ve aren’t sure about getting your vaccine for any reason at all, I encourage you to come and speak to the team at one of our clinics. They will be happy to talk through any questions or concerns you have.”
